053 – Aprender a Través de Historias con Olly Richards | Learn Through Stories with Olly Richards

Meet Olly Richards, polyglot and founder of the StoryLearning method. Olly, who is originally from England, explains that his path as a polyglot began when he was 19 with French as his second language.

He shares the awkward realization that when he made the move to London, he was one of the few people in the bustling metropolis that couldn’t speak more than one language.

After moving from London to Paris for 6 months, he managed to not just get a good grasp on the language, but also to garner the confidence he needed to learn others.

Jim and May pose the question of the psychological fears surrounding adults and language learning, while Olly shares his opinions on how kids actually learn vs what he considers a myth.

He also analyzes the very night that his interest was piqued about learning through stories. After this, he breaks down his StoryLearning Method into 5 easy to understand parts. It’s a strategy for beginner and advanced students alike!

Check out his “I Will Teach You a Language” platform – website, YouTube channel, podcast.

Just another gentle reminder, there is a method out there for everybody. You have to search for it. If you are still trying to find a resource that works for you- maybe this is the one!
