Itinerary
Day 1: ¡Bienvenidos a Mérida!
Touch down at MID airport and let our driver whisk you to our boutique oasis near Paseo de Montejo. After check-in and a refreshing “agua de chaya,” we gather pool-side for official introductions. You’ll meet your teachers, snag your welcome pack, and set personal language goals. At sunset we head to a nearby Casona for a Yucatecan tasting menu—think sopa de lima and cochinita pibil—. By the time you stroll home under the fairy-lit ceibas, you’ll already have added a dozen new phrases to your vocabulary.

Day 2: Mérida 101 + First Mini-Victories
Morning: Large-group classes in our comfortable, air-conditioned salon.
Afternoon: After lunch, our teachers become your guides on a “Mérida 101” walking tour. Decode the pastel-hued architecture, step inside the Catedral de San Ildefonso, and explore the city’s vibrant barrios and tranquil parks. Admire the neoclassical columns of the iconic Teatro Peón Contreras, and peek into centuries-old casas and casonas—like the storied Casa de Montejo, a window into over 400 years of history.
Evening (optional): A crash course on Mexico’s iconic beverages—learn the difference between xtabentún and mezcal before tasting each (responsibly, of course).

Day 3: A Feast for the Senses
Morning: Large and small-group classes in our comfortable, air-conditioned salon.
Afternoon: Our Mérida Food & History Tour whisks you through the bustling Lucas de Gálvez market. You’ll sample tacos de cochinita, empanadas, panuchos, salbutes, and more. Discover the rich world of recados—the spice blends at the heart of Yucatecan cooking. Satisfy your sweet tooth with traditional local candies and cap it off with a stop at a Michelin-recognized gelato shop.
Evening (optional): Street-food safari for marquesitas (Nutella-cheese crêpes!) and artisanal sorbet. Yes, you’ll order in Spanish.

Day 4: The Golden City & a Wonder of the World
Dawn departure to Izamal, the “Ciudad Amarilla.” Over café de olla, you’ll have an on-site mini-class, then tour the Convento de San Antonio de Padua by horse-drawn calesa. After lunch, we continue to Chichén Itzá. Your guide will weave Spanish vocabulary into stories about sacred cenotes and the site’s iconic monuments—including El Castillo, the Temple of the Warriors, and the Great Ball Court. You’ll practice descriptive language while photographing these awe-inspiring ruins.
Evening: Unwind at the hotel with casual poolside games, refreshing drinks, and a laid-back vibe after a full day out.

Day 5: From Market to Table
Roll up your sleeves for a hands-on Yucatecan cooking workshop in a traditional local home. Guided by a home cook who’s been perfecting these recipes for generations, you’ll roast chiles, blend achiote paste, and hand-fold empanadas. Every step is taught in Spanish, and every bite is your well-earned reward.
Evening: Optional night bike tour along Paseo de Montejo.

Day 6: Henequén Haciendas & Cenote Bliss
Travel south to a beautifully restored hacienda henequenera, where you’ll uncover the fascinating history of Yucatán’s “green gold” era. Ride a vintage mule-drawn rail cart once used to transport henequén fibers, then cool off with a plunge into a crystal-clear cenote hidden beneath the trees. Afterward, savor a traditional Yucatecan lunch to complete a perfect day steeped in heritage and relaxation.Evening: Return at dusk for a casual debrief and an optional visit to a cantina-style bar.

Day 7: Spotlight on You
Morning: Final presentations—share a five-minute talk entirely in Spanish, with supportive feedback from teachers and peers.
