050 – Errores Comunes del Español | Common Mistakes in Spanish
Get ready to learn 9 of the most common mistakes that students make when they are learning Spanish. Maybe you’re making them too?
In English, sometimes we use certain verbs interchangeably, but it doesn’t always work the same in Spanish.
A few of the mistakes result from Spanish and English being so similar and different at the same time. For example, there’s a constant misuse of ser vs estar (they both mean to be) or traer vs llevar (to bring vs to take).
Other mistakes are based on pronunciation. Take the word “función” for example. In Spanish, many students mispronounce it since it looks so similar to “function” in English. But no te preocupes, Jim and May clear it all up!
Jim points out how patient May has been while helping him on his Spanish journey since he used to make a lot of these mistakes all the time, but she confirms that if you’re making mistakes, then you’re learning.
Not only do they review these mistakes, but they also provide tips on how to fix them. Check out the episode and let us know what other mistakes you used to make in the past.
And that’s so true! Don’t get discouraged by your mistakes, just get motivated to improve your speaking!
